Our process
Hughie licks his lips and wiggles with excitement during training, patiently waiting for the treat he knows he's earned. Every puppy goes through the same considered process before they leave us — not because it's required, but because it's what actually shapes a confident, easygoing adult dog.
We believe temperament isn't just genetic — it's built, day by day, through consistent, positive handling. A puppy that's been gently exposed to new experiences and calmly guided through early training arrives home already knowing how to learn, which makes every stage of raising them afterward easier for you.
Training starts as early as 3 weeks old — open-door crate introduction so the crate becomes a familiar, unthreatening space, and toilet training begins on real grass. Sound socialization also starts around this time, with gentle exposure to everyday household noise.
Training continues from there with basic commands, lead introduction, and further socialization — new people, textures, and situations — right up until each puppy goes to their new home.
We continue exposing puppies to everyday situations — new environments, gentle noise, handling of paws and ears — so nothing feels overwhelming once they're home with you.
